Our retreat teachers
At YogaOnCrete in Southern Crete, retreats are guided by experienced teachers who value clarity, presence, and respectful practice. Each teacher brings their own background, while sharing a common approach rooted in attention, care, and deep knowledge of their subject.
Iyengar yoga teacher
“Yoga as a path to presence and inner safety.”
Eugenia is the heart of Yoga on Crete. Her journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then Contemporary Dance, during which she started practicing yoga, which evolved into a lifelong devotion to yoga. With over 20 years of experience, she holds an Iyengar yoga teacher certificate and a Master’s degree in Sports Psychology.
Iyengar yoga teacher
“Awakening the connection between internal and external alignment.”
Constantinos discovered Iyengar yoga in 1994, and along with psychoanalysis and his profound study of the Tao, it has since become the lens through which he views the world. Alongside receiving his Iyengar yoga teaching certification, he has studied closely with B.K.S. Iyengar’s direct students and is also a trained Clinical Psychologist.
Iyengar yoga teacher
Kristina is an Iyengar yoga teacher with a deeply international background, born in London and raised between Athens and Paris. Her teaching focuses on precision, therapeutic awareness, and the subtle alignment of body and mind. She brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach that supports both physical and mental well-being.
Psychotherapist
“Finding balance through emotional integrity and mindfulness.”
As Eugenia’s husband, Nikos has been a pillar of the Yoga on Crete family since 2018. As a certified Focusing Somatic Psychotherapist, he facilitates emotional awareness sessions and brings a rare depth of knowledge of the multi-faceted process of holistic health.
Our team
Behind the retreats is a small, dedicated team that supports the daily rhythm of YogaOnCrete. Their presence, care, and attention to detail help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout each retreat.
Tassos Zafiropoulos
Kitchen chef
Tassos is the soul of our kitchen. With a deep respect for Cretan tradition and the seasonal rhythm of the land, he transforms simple, local ingredients into meals that nourish both body and spirit. For Tassos, cooking is an act of hospitality, ensuring that every guest feels the warmth of Crete through every bite.
Tatiana Chibisova
Housekeeping
Tatiana brings a sense of harmony and care to everything she does. Her focus is on maintaining our guestrooms, studio and kitchen in excellent condition, so that our hospitality contributes to inner peace. Working with mindfulness and a bright smile, she ensures that our guests’ needs are tended to, in support of each person’s unique self-care journey.
Massage therapist
Eva brings a deeply restorative presence to YogaOnCrete, offering therapeutic touch shaped by her years as a professional dancer and her journey into holistic healing. Her path began through personal experience with injury, leading her into reflexology, acupuncture, and Oriental medicine.
Working with sensitivity, intuition, and refined skill, she creates sessions that support relaxation, balance, and quiet self-awareness, meeting each guest with care and respect for their individual needs.
Visiting teachers
Aside from the core team, in the last years we have built regular collaborations with teachers bringing their own students for a retreat. These retreats are often in a different language to English (Icelandic, Italian, French).
