Host a retreat in Crete
YogaOnCrete is more than a venue; it is a home with a long-standing tradition of hosting transformative experiences. We provide facilitators with a sanctuary where professional standards meet the quiet, authentic rhythm of Sfakia.
Why YogaonCrete
YogaOnCrete is a retreat home in Southern Crete that has slowly grown into a space for practice, rest, and meaningful encounters. The atmosphere here is calm, personal, and grounded — shaped as much by the land as by the people who inhabit it.
Retreats held here unfold at a natural pace. Days are not overfilled, and groups are kept intentionally small, allowing space for presence, reflection, and authentic connection — with oneself, with others, and with the surroundings.
A dedicated space for practice and connection
A dedicated retreat requires more than beautiful surroundings. It requires a space that can hold presence, rhythm, and shared experience.
At Yoga on Crete, teaching unfolds in an atmosphere of calm focus and human scale. The studio environment supports both movement and stillness, allowing your group to settle deeply into practice and connection.
The practice space and essentials
Our studio is a light-filled, quiet environment designed to hold the energy of your group. Whether you are leading dynamic sessions, restorative practices, or circles, the space is prepared for deep work.
Thoughtful Support: We provide all the standard Iyengar yoga props: high-quality mats, bolsters, blocks, bricks, blankets, belts, as well as yoga chairs, so your students can travel light and find everything they need upon arrival. while our covered studio wall is equipped with 12 pairs of Iyengar yoga ropes (Adho Mukha Svanasana and Sirsasana height). Additionally, eye-bandages, eye-pillows, weighted-bags, Pilates balls, a Sirsasana stool and a spikey mat are available, so you can be creative in your use of equipement.
Intimacy & Focus: We specialise in hosting groups of 10 to 16 participants. This size allows for a meaningful connection within the group. To truly immerse in the experience, we host retreats with a minimum stay of 5 days.
Nourishment: the Cretan table
Food is an essential part of the healing journey here. We offer meals that are deeply nourishing, prepared with care and respect for local ingredients.
Seasonal & Local: Our chef, Tassos, crafts menus from organic Sfakian produce, ensuring that every meal supports the well-being of your students.
Culinary Freedom: If your retreat includes a communal cooking element, our large, traditional kitchen is available for your use, offering a beautiful space for shared preparation.
The location: the stillness of Sfakia
Chora Sfakion offers a rare kind of quiet. Located away from the busy tourist routes, it provides the isolation needed for reflection and focus.
Coastal Exploration: Our village is the gateway to the Libyan Sea. Your group can enjoy boat trips to the car-free village of Loutro or find stillness at Sweet Water beach.
Nature as a Teacher: The surrounding mountains and the E4 coastal paths offer endless opportunities for walking meditations, hikes and connection with the elements.
